A detail has changed
Companies move, change numbers, drop a service or stop trading. If you notice this on one of our pages, email info@buildrank.co.uk with the company’s name and town and we will look at it and update the page.
Suggest a company
Know a home improvement company that belongs in one of our town lists? Tell us its name and where it is based. It will be assessed in the same way as every other company here, using the method on our How we select page.
For company owners
If you own or manage a listed company, you can take over its page through the business area, linked from the top of each page. There you can correct the jobs, opening hours and description we show, read about the paid plans, or put forward a company we do not list yet.
No advice on building work
None of us is a builder, surveyor or engineer, so we cannot judge a crack, price a job, tell you whether planning permission applies or point you to one company rather than another. Please keep contracts, bank details and other personal papers out of your emails to us. If you smell gas, get out of the property and ring the gas emergency line for your area at once. If a wall, chimney or roof looks unsafe, stay well away and tell the council.
Problems with a company
Disputes with the companies we list are not something we can settle. Put your complaint to the company first, in writing. A company registered with TrustMark or belonging to a trade association may be subject to that body’s complaints process, and Gas Safe Register takes reports of dangerous gas work. Free consumer advice is available from Citizens Advice in England and Wales, Advice Direct Scotland and Consumerline in Northern Ireland.
