Privacy policy
The personal data BuildRank collects, the reasons, the providers involved and how to use your rights under UK law.
Controller
The controller of the personal data covered here is BuildRank (buildrank.co.uk), reachable at info@buildrank.co.uk. We process personal data in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
The data and our reasons
Visits: each request to the site carries your IP address, browser details and the page asked for. We use them to run the site and defend it against abuse, on the basis of our legitimate interests.
Emails: if you write to us, we keep your address, your message and anything you attach in order to answer it, again on the basis of our legitimate interests.
Company accounts: owners and managers who use the business area give us a sign-in email and the details of their company. We need these to provide the page and any plan, on the basis of our contract with the company.
Contracts, bank details and photos showing your address are of no use to us. Please do not send them, and if they arrive we delete them.
Cookies and advertising
There is no advertising on BuildRank and no advertising network is used. No cookies are set for advertising or for analytics, and Cloudflare measures visits without any cookie. One cookie is used, and only in the business area, to keep company owners signed in. Strictly necessary cookies like this one are exempt from the consent rules in the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, so you will see no cookie banner here.
Service providers
Cloudflare provides hosting, protection against attacks, cookie-free visit counts and email routing. Cloudflare Turnstile tells people apart from bots when a form is sent. Stripe processes the payments for company plans, and card details stay with Stripe, never with us. Both are based in the United States, and any personal data leaving the UK travels under the safeguards that UK law requires.
Retention
Visit records are deleted once they are no longer needed for security. Emails are deleted when the matter they concern is closed. Company accounts last while they are in use, and invoices are kept for the period required by tax rules.
Your rights
UK data protection law lets you ask for a copy of your personal data, for corrections, for erasure, for limits on its use, to object to that use and to receive your data in a reusable format. To make any of these requests, email info@buildrank.co.uk. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection, through ico.org.uk.
Updates
This policy will be revised whenever our handling of personal data changes.
